It's because I am a slave to cheesy punctuation

It's raining like crazy today, and I’m thinking of walking to Priya cinema this evening to see a movie. I was tempted to go see Singh is Kinnnnnngh (mostly because Snoop Dogg performs on the soundtrack), but I think I’m going to pass. I read a review yesterday in The Telegraph which proclaimed, “if you liked No Entry, you’ll love Singh is Kinngh!” No Entry was the first Bollywood movie I ever saw, and god knows how my love for Hindi films emerged and survived following the experience because watching No Entry is a lot like three hours of being beaten in the face. It falls into the category of “masala” films, which are pretty much “zany” “sex” “comedies” which follow the general themes of (a) men really want to touch women and (b) women are completely irrational. I can turn my mind off long enough to enjoy the entertainment value of a lot of misogynist media, but I have a feeling Singh is Kinngh is going to be a bit too much. Also, the review referred to the film’s target audience as “the masala-loving junta.” Instead, I’ll probably go see Rock On!! for the same reason I like to patronize the Let’s Coffee! Café. Says one of the stars, Farhan Akhtar, in an interview: “From the promos it comes across as a film about friends, who are cool. But once you watch the film you will realize that the story here is very different.” Intrigued?

was it really necessary to put up the poster for that movie? i blocked it out of my mind for a good three years and now all the pain is rushing back... make sure you talk on your cell phone during the movie and stand up at the very end so that you blend in with the rest of the movie goers...

Possible real plotlines for Rock On!!:

-A film about friends, who are not cool.
-A film about not-friends, who are cool.
-A film about not-friends, who are not cool.
-A film about "friends," who are "cool."
-A "film" about friends, who are cool.

I hope it is the last option. Perhaps they show the promo, and then display a rock on a white table for the next 2 hours.

Well, it would be for the next three hours. I did see Rock On!! last night and it was a combination of what you have suggested: it was a film about friends, who sometimes are not friends, and who are cool, but sometimes are not cool. There was also a lot of poppy "rock" music and a lead singer whose performance was inspired primarily by Steven Tyler. A good time all around.
