poshity-posh posh

well, sort of.

This is posh: The other Leah and I are sitting at the "Park Street Mews," a new restaurant slash coffee shop in Colombo. I had an Americano and a roasted vegetable Italian-ish sandwich for lunch (pretty good, actually), and I'm looking at exposed brick and menus written in colored chalk on chalk-boards hanging from the ceiling. I feel like I'm at a trendy brunch place.

However, not posh: The reason that I've been here for three hours is that 1) we have no water at our house for no apparent reason (like, there isn't a water cut in Colombo today), and so the toilets aren't flushing. And 2) because the electricity to our kitchen isn't working and so everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) in our fridge has gone bad.

However, the net result of this is basically that my life is actually pretty posh, but that sometimes I'm just not very good at doing things. Like for example, our fridge hasn't had power for over 48 hours, but for some reason instead of trying to fix it, Leah and I went and had tea at the Galle Face on the sea right after my friends left (bye Jenna, Jared and Baha!). But it is hard to get things done on the weekend sometimes, and we were feeling pretty lazy. This is why my phone is still broken. Although I think our house is mostly getting fixed today.

Well, I'm off to order some onion rings. Mmmmmm. More blogging to come, I promise.
